This weekend's trip was to . . .

Scotland! It should be about a 5 hour drive to Edinburgh, but with our 3 little people and some traffic it took us 7. Our first order of business was to go see Edinburgh Castle. Blake was in heaven because they had cannons and prisons. I loved the views of the city. The castleTemper tantrum at the castleWe strolled down Edinburg's Royal Mile. This is St. Giles Cathedral. One of the chapels inside, the Thistle Chapel, is decorated with an angel playing bagpipes. My favorite part of the trip was when we drove out to the ocean to this castle ruin. (Drawing a blank on the name, I'll get back to you). When we pulled up, it was raining and the wind was blowing like crazy, and it took some coaxing for Matt and I to get the kids out of the car. But this was an awesome place. We were free to explore the ruins, there were winding staricases that led to the top of the castle, and the stormy weather only added to the mysterious atmosphere. When we were nice and cold and drenched we ran back to the car - the wind blowing so hard that the rain stung when it hit our faces. I will never forget the good time I had there.
Now scroll back up and check out that cute little kilt again.

I love the kilt and the joy he gets from wearing it. I'm so excited to visit.

You know his Uncle Ty wore a kilt for sometime when he lived in London.
Wait...or did he wear a skirt while he was living in London? Actually, wasn't it he wore a skirt while he lived in our basement?
Well whatever it was.

Like a true Scot I wore my kilt sans underwear. Itchy. Scotland looks beautiful. I think Edinburgh's where grad spent most his mission.

Glad you enjoyed Edinburgh. Had you heard of walk talk tours? - the downloadable audio tours of Edinburgh, York, Manchester and London to play on your MP3 or iPod. Ideal for independent travellers like you.

Take a look at www.walktalktour.com and see what you think.

Jenny your number hasn't been working. I signed up for Skype but it doesn't seem free like it says it is.

How adorable (kilt cutie)! Steven's cousin sells kilts and other related items. We receive his catalog once in a while. It's surprising to me how many men still wear them.
